“New Perspective of ‘Jihad’ in Christianity and Islam” Just More ‘Narrative’?

PCFreespeech2013SM

Here is a hard question Virginia; when does ‘selling‘ cross the line into ‘conning‘, when does a ‘pundit‘ or ‘proponent‘ become a propagandist?

There was an an article in my inbox this morning by Craig Considine on Huffington Post that begs the question; is it a good‘ article, or just another attempt promoting a ‘Big Lie‘?

I have always believed that to lie, distort, cast aspersions or avoid full disclosure of questionable sources in order to “win” a debate (or followers) is inherently dishonest, and at least partially, invariably damages the strength of any argument that the ‘less-than-honest‘ pundits put forth.

Any reasonable person can see that when it becomes generally obvious that this kind of dishonest “argument” is acceptable and indispensable to an organization or pundit’s persuasive arsenal the only possible effect on non-committed minds, as well as the ‘opposition‘ is to take away any reason they might have to consider the actual thoughts or ideas lurking behind the libel, hype and spin; the credibility of all of their arguments and positions become suspect.

This piece by Mr. Considine; is he intentionally doing a whitewash or, does he merely accept inaccurate and, or misleading information he has been fed by those who know better but only want to “win“?

Come Virginia, let’s look at it piece by piece; we shall attempt to differentiate the bog, fog and quicksand from what is truly solid ground.

Politicians and anti-Muslim activists frequently take to audiences and websites to criticize the term “jihad” as a form of Islamic supremacism, oppression, and violence. Muslim extremists, on the other hand, argue that “jihad” refers to a “holy war” against non-Muslims. Viewing the term “jihad” though these frameworks alone, however, would be playing into the hands of extremists who forego the other elements encompassed by the term “jihad.”

Take note Virginia of the typical partisan technique: lumping all conceivable “opponents” into one conveniently disposable lump. Note also the author’s bearing of false witness as he conflates everyone against the advance of Islamic Supremacism with a tiny minority against those individuals who are labeled as Muslim!

At the very same time Considine comes off as though he is doing a ‘whitewash‘; it is indisputable that the definition he tells us is promoted for “jihad” by “Muslim extremists” is exactly the same as the declared interpretation of the word accepted and defended by all of the Islamic Schools of Jurisprudence; who set doctrine and dogma for the Ummah; Yes, Virginia, both the Sunni and the Shiite Schools.

Not one thing he says in that paragraph is technically untrue but, when you look at what is unsaid, what is distorted or maligned, and the paragraph becomes more an example of artful lying than of an honest attempt at communication.

But, Wait! There’s MORE!” said the used car salesman…

In Islam, “jihad” has several different components, which include personal struggles, such as the struggle against an addiction; social struggles, such as the struggle to become tolerant of others; and occasionally a military struggle, if and when necessary in self-defense. When asked, “What is the major jihad?” Muhammad replied: “The jihad of the self (struggle against the personal self).” Contrary to the rhetoric and misinformation about “jihad” in anti-Islam networks, Muhammad did not say that the violent struggle was the most important form of “jihad.

Contrary to its being one of the most quoted “hadith” by Islamist apologists I can’t find it in any orthodox collection of ahadith! The only place it seems to be found is in a book published posthumously but, only in the completely re-edited 2nd edition:

THe first hadith in the 2nd edition is not in Bukhari, it is not in Muslim; it is not in any  collection of ahadith that I could find mention of yet appeared in the 2nd edition of a dead man’s book, and is now used constantly to reassure non-Muslims that “holy war” has no part in “mainstream Islam” or was ever a major part of the concept of ‘jihad‘!

Even Google is in on the game…

If you put the Arabic/Persian word جِهَادُ into the Google Translator you will find that in a large number of languages Google simply spits back the transliteration of جِهَادُ for that language… in other words in English, German, Japanese, Latvian, Russian, Spanish and most of the others ‘jihad’ means ‘jihad’!

Ah, Virginia, that is not the end of the tale; it seems that Google missed a few. Here are the ones I found with translation instead of transliteration:

Dutch:

جِهَادُ = heilige oorlog

Heilige = Sanctified (St.)

Oorlog = War

جِهَادُ = (in Dutch) Holy War but, Google is still determined to keep most other peoples in ignorance; if I translate the Dutch phrase ‘heilige oorlog’ directly to English it declares that it means ‘jihad’!

Tamil:

جِهَادُ = இஸ்லாமியர்களின் புனித போர்

இஸ்லாமியர்களின் = of Muslims

புனித = Sanctified (St.)

போர் = war

புனித போர் = Holy War

If you put the whole phrase in then Google says that a translation of the Tamil phrase is… You guessed it…

இஸ்லாமியர்களின் புனித போர் = Jihad

Vietnamese

جِهَادُ = chiến tranh Hồi giáo and that chiến tranh Hồi giáo = jihad (in English)!

Word by word translation shows this however…

chiến = wizard

tranh = competition

Hồi giáo translates as Mohamadenism but Hồi translates as steam and giáo as lance; I may be lacking a Phd. in language but, I get something like “supernatural or divine competition of the ‘explosively expanding and dangerous’ ‘spear-people’”, um… Virginia does that sound like it means ‘Holy War’ to you? Certainly I think that a long and historically peaceful relationship between the two groups, Vietnamese and Muslims,  is contraindicated when the Vietnamese phrase for Islam translates as ‘steam lance’!

Of course here in politically correct Google-Land if you translate the whole Vietnamese phrase into English, well Google again gives the transliteration of the Arabic/Persian word جِهَادُ ‘jihad’ instead of any attempt at translation.

chiến tranh Hồi giáo = jihad

The hype in America and abroad over ”jihad” has brought me to consider the term through a Christian perspective. In this piece I seek to do two things — explore how forms of ”jihad” are present in Christianity and pinpoint different ways of looking at ”jihad” in Christian and Islamic texts. Doing so can help find common characteristics of “jihad” so that Christians and Muslims can build bridges of mutual understanding and tolerance.

The kicker Virginia is that the hadith has been declared unreliable pretty much by all Islamic authorities world-wide!

The entire article is in a similar, “who me, honest?” vein; including the following paragraph containing another hadith confirmed to be not only unreliable, but  fabricated (emphasis added):

In the Quran (58:11), God raises in rank “… those who have been given knowledge.” Muhammad also emphasized knowledge in a hadith, or saying of the Prophet, in which he said that “Seeking knowledge is a must for every Muslim, male or female, from cradle to grave in any part of the world.” Muhammad also stated in another hadith that “the ink of the scholar is more sacred than the blood of the martyr.” Christians and Muslims, therefore, share a similar “jihad” in terms of their obligation to seek out knowledge and apply that knowledge in good faith for the betterment of humanity.

Sorry Arianna, your “pundit” pranked you; how much did you pay Craig for a politically correct fantasy pretending it is an informative article?

Virginia, it goes to show that it is best to ferret out the original information first, especially when that information is spread by a partisan in support of a partisan position.

Huffington Post’s Reverend Kimball Bears False Witness Against Christianity and Judaism

 Who would Jesus behead?

This, Virginia, is why I do not put any great weight on my own ordination; any fool can be ordained and seeking God has nothing to do with it; witness the blatant bearing of false witness to further a political agenda exercised by this so-called minister. Here a so called minister of God is even bearing false witness against his own religion, if you can believe it!

Here we have an analysis of the ranting’s of one Charles Kimball, the director of Religious Studies at the University of Oklahoma and a Baptist minister regarding the culpability of Christians and Christianity for the Oslo massacre and bombing by mass murderer (alleged, I think we are supposed to say Virginia) Anders Breivik.

The horrific events in Norway this past weekend provide yet another powerful teachable moment in the ongoing and increasingly dangerous saga of religion becoming lethal.

I can’t imagine how. Unless the good reverend’s point is somehow that the actions of non-Christian religious folk caused Breivik to snap I don’t see the point.  Breivik very pointedly explained that he was not, would not be, and did not recommend being a religious Christian; to him “Christian” seems to be no more than a catch-all term for non-Muslim of European culture! He also never used Christian theology in his writings to base his actions upon.

Indeed it would be hard to find any Christian “church” today, anywhere, that would be able to propound a theology based in the teachings of Jesus that would support the killing of anyone merely to make a point, let alone try to justify the slaughter of children to make said point. Even Fred Phelps and his sad band of haters do not promote violence, other than making decent people wish for an excuse to righteously kick their asses. Sadly, Phelps and Co. have been too clever so far to give the rest of us an excuse to use our laws to put them away… This is the price you pay for freedom.

Reality aside, facts aside, respect for his own religion and co-religionists aside, the good Rev. wants to use this as a teaching moment. Such aggressive compassion surely must be a good thing, right, Virginia? Right?

The murderous rampage by Anders Behring Breivik brings several important lessons more clearly into view.

Indeed, it does, but not in the way you seem to feel, Sir!

First, religion is an extraordinarily powerful and pervasive force in human society. Throughout history, people within various religions have been motivated to their highest and noblest best actions. At the same time, some of the worst things human beings have done to one another have been done in the name of or justified by religion. Religion is a powerful force inspiring constructive and destructive behavior among believers.

Right, but what does this have to do with a man, Breivik, who justified his evil with secular arguments, and did not use any religion’s message or theology to base his horror upon?

Second, we live in a world with many weapons of mass destruction. Quite apart from the horrors associated with chemical, nuclear or biological weapons, we now know that a devious plan can utilize automatic weapons, fertilizer, box knives and commercial airplanes as weapons of mass destruction. Attacking a summer camp for youth vividly reminds us that there are many ways people bent on doing great harm can accomplish their goal.

As far as I can tell that last paragraph was no more than background music for an ongoing apologia for the “free speech is good, but it can go too far” crowd who equate free speech with inoffensive (to them) speech.

Third, we now know with certainty that it doesn’t take many people to wreak havoc on a wide scale. Breivik may have acted alone or within a small circle of cohorts, as did Timothy McVeigh. Nineteen men carried out the attacks of Sept. 11. Small numbers of zealots who are convinced they know what God wants for them and for everyone else are capable of almost anything.

Notice how the oh, so honest Revd. throws in McVeigh, another secular terrorist who explicitly rejected any theological grounds for his crimes against humanity to balance the unarguably theocratic 9/11 terrorists, among others too numerous to count. What this compulsion he shares with other Leftists, to beat his breast and declare “We are just as bad!” instead of solving the problems, is all about is simply beyond me.

I can’t think of any modern religious terror committed by other than lone madmen at all except for the Islamic kind… Even the Irish terrorists who divided on religious lines never used Christianity to justify what they did, nor did the clergy in any way justify or support them, in fact for the most part they were Marxists whom the local Catholic clergy would not trust any more than they would Protestants!! The same can be said about abortion clinic bombers, they are lone wolves and, are not backed up by mainstream theology or communities in any way.

Not surprisingly, many preachers and pundits who have spewed hateful rhetoric and fanned the flames of Islamophobia are now scrambling to disassociate themselves, their published statements about Islam and Muslims, and what some call “true” Christianity from the actions of Breivik.

No my dear wolf in minister’s clothing, you are the one who is scrambling to tar innocent people with the taint of Breivik’s evil in order to further your own agenda  That is the very epitome of bearing false witness against your neighbor! I highly doubt even one of the people you seek to demonize ever called for violence against Muslims in any way; certainly none of the “influential” ones have; they certainly did not promote violence against the enablers of Islamism, which seems to be what Breivik thought he was doing in the dark buzzing cloud pretending to be his soul. At the same time, others quoted by Breivik have promoted violent and totalitarian schemes… but they are never mentioned by the oh, so righteous Reverend.

But words matter. Examine the path taken by violent extremists claiming inspiration from Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism or Buddhism and you can trace connections with the fiery rhetoric of influential, sometimes self-appointed leaders in madrasas, in books, at religious rallies, on websites and the like. There are consequences when cocksure Christians or Muslim militants proclaim God’s truth while stoking fear of the “other” in the minds of their would-be followers.

Here “Rev.” Kimball is bending over backwards until his spine snaps to attempt to “level the playing field” between Islam and other religions when it comes to directly inspiring violence. He fails to make his case.  Show me the violent Christian, Jewish or Buddhist movement, in the lifetime of this nation, that was encouraged by “fiery rhetoric” from “influential” books, churches, synagogues and leaders? Can you think of any in the last two hundred years? I can’t, just a handful of nutjobs who are universally excoriated by their own co-religionists.  No-one complained about what kind of burial Jim Jones got, no Christian thought it important how a lunatic mass murderer should be buried!

Meanwhile, the good reverend goes back to his “free speech is bad in the wrong hands” theme. The wrong hands here of course being hands that are possessed by someone who disagrees with the enlightened view of Revd. Kimball.

While there are no easy answers or simple solutions, there are constructive ways to move forward in our increasingly interconnected and interdependent world community. It begins with education.

Study programs in schools and colleges, churches, mosques and synagogues are essential. Interfaith dialogue and engagement with people of different religious and cultural backgrounds are invaluable ways to dispel generic fears and help humanize the “other.” All across the U.S., Christians, Muslims and Jews are working together to build Habitat for Humanity houses and work on common problems such as crime and drug abuse within their communities. These kinds of intentional efforts at education and cooperation are vital at the local, national and international level. We need more and more such endeavors in the U.S., not only for the well-being of our communities, but also as a way to model the kind of healthy religious pluralism our future requires.

The truly sad part about Kimball’s misguided view is that the above actions are not being done, and never will be done by the kinds of religious extremists he worries about; not the handful of Christian ones and, not the thousands upon thousands of Muslim ones. At most they will use such activities as a smokescreen while they pursue their theocratic agenda’s unmolested.  I can only assume that either Mr. Kimball’s seminary did not offer a real course in history or, that he flunked it.

He also seems to be guilty of the sin of Liberal Racism. To that mindset the “underclasses” of past racist philosophies have not vanished, they are poor, helpless children that must take under protection, for their own good.

Because they are “of the oppressed”, a state of permanent victimhood, their actions do not make a difference compared to the actions of the evil, dominant White Man from Europe and America that is Kimball’s real devil, and God.

He will never compare the fruit of Muslim and Christian fairly, because then he would be forced to speak of Islam (from the perspective of any devout Christian clergyman) as a religion that might stem from God but, that has been mired for most of its existence in a theo/political system of worldly evil.

The path to a more hopeful and healthy future also requires people of faith and goodwill to speak out clearly and directly against extremists of all stripes.

I can’t argue with that. That is what the Heretics Crusade is.

Although most of us were taught by our parents not to talk about religion or politics in public, the stakes today are far too high for deferential silence or casual indifference. Ignorance is not bliss; silence is proving deadly.

Once again, I agree, I don’t think anyone reasonable would try. But, that is not the pitch, that is just the windup with a lean to the left to imply a slider, this next bit is the pitch; a spitball, knuckleball covered in tar.

Just as many people continue to call on Muslims to speak out forcefully and unambiguously against violence and extremism, so too must Christians and Jews openly challenge those who advocate extremism and foster hatred in the name of religion. This means, for example, naming names and identifying the theological and political positions of Jewish fundamentalists and Muslim extremists who block potential paths to peace in Israel/Palestine.

The problem with this little gem is that the Jewish and Christian communities in this country as a whole have always stood against anyone who used violence and extremism to advance or defend their faiths! It has been held a virtual truth that to do so is to abrogate that faith entirely!

Just what more is it that they are supposed to do when the mainstream Islamic community complains about how Osama Bin Laden was buried after assuring us for years that he was not a “real Muslim”?

For me, as a follower of Jesus and a Christian minister, it means strongly disagreeing with TV preachers with political clout such as John Hagee and Rod Parsley. They have every right to espouse their religious and political worldviews. But their ill-informed and hateful rhetoric about Islam and Muslims, as well as their certainty that Jesus will be arriving in the next couple of weeks, has very real consequences.

That is nice Chuck, when are you going to do it? This whole piece reads like it is aimed against free speech and, to me, seems to be intended to gently brush Oslo/Breivik tar on anti-Jihadist bloggers and writers who have never propounded, or invoked, an ideology of violence; yet gives a pass to Breivik “inspiring” figures and writers (in his own words) who happen to be on your side of the war in your mind. You haven’t even given us a clear idea of just what they say that you oppose! If that last paragraph was really the point of your post then, I have to say I think your point fell flat.

The mind-boggling terrorism manifest in Norway will continue to provide hard but important lessons about the dangers all around us and the need to find more constructive ways to move forward in the 21st century. It is a stark reminder that we share a fragile planet where ignorance, hate and fear can link easily with religious worldviews and produce horrific consequences.

Yes Virginia, the world is a dangerous place, especially if you equate the evil acts of lone scumbags with the evil acts of organized and ideologically driven scumbags who are numerous and active instead of isolated and sporadic.

Huffington Hit Piece on Ground Zero Protest

butcherinnameofislam

Today there was a very disturbing piece on Huffington Post by

Rita Nakashima Brock, Ph. D.

Director, Faith Voices for the Common Good

about how heinous the opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque is; here are my comments, I am not sure if the HP will allow them through the censors, second try now…

“In attacking Park51, the Cordoba Initiative’s Islamic cultural center, the Geller-Palin-Gingrich-Beck-FOX syndicate has suddenly hallowed an old Burlington Coat Factory that lies two blocks from Ground Zero."

Here we have a wholesale acceptance of the Mosque promoters terminology, un-biased is not even in this woman’s vocabulary; then we get demonization of ALL opposition to the Mosque with a grab-bag of Left-Loves-to-Hate names, making sure the sheeple give the proper responses to her "facts"; then a wind up with the completely fallacious statement that "suddenly" the site became associated with Ground Zero, which is actually blocks away.

To start with, according to public statements on a number of occasions by both Khan and Rauf the fact that the building was rendered uninhabitable BY 9/11, by the actual landing gear of one of the planes, that made it "perfect" for their project, and that 9/11 was a "sign from God" that the time (and place) had come to move on their plans. Park51 is not NEAR Ground Zero, it IS Ground Zero!

So, other than identifying certain parties as all opposing the Mosque (a list with its own purpose; polarizing the readership against all opponents) the entire sentence above is FALSE and misleading!

“Yet it appears that Ground Zero itself is suffering their neglect. They’ve failed to condemn the tacky souvenir stand and Burger King across the street from it, or the porn shops closer than Park51.”

Souvenir dealers and Strippers are preaching the destruction of Western Values? Sellers of cheap stuff stamped I heart NY and wearers of sequined pasties are now committed to the area because they wish to stick it is the face of those who died on 9/11? Man, I need to watch more TV News; I am missing all the facts it seems… or am I just looking at the RELEVANT facts?

Did the souvenir stand or Burger King CHOOSE their spots after 9/11 BECAUSE, according to PUBLIC statements, of 9/11? Did those sites only become condemned because of pieces of 9/11 airplane striking them? No? Then stop pretending it has meaning in the debate!

“Of course, this sudden reverence for one spot near Ground Zero is crass political opportunism.”

Sudden? It was KHAN and RAUF who first talked about the site being chosen for religious reasons associated with 9/11!! What part of 1+1 = 2 don’t you GET?

“But there are things worth hallowing that the syndicate won’t mention because these things don’t serve their nefarious purposes.”

When did YOU protest the fact that the City of NY has denied the Greek Orthodox Church, the only religious structure destroyed in 9/11, permission to rebuild ANYWHERE in NY City; let alone on their old site?

Spencer and Geller and Fox have mentioned it; are they more “fair and balanced” than you are?

“In the face of the unspeakable tragedy of 9/11, most of us wanted to do something, anything, to help.”

This is true, but why do you insist on calling it a tragedy, instead of an atrocity? Tragedies happen; atrocities are committed; which is 9/11 in your mind?

“With so much anti-Muslim hate being spewed in the name of 9/11 right now, we must remember the sacred things that happened on September 12, 2001. On that day in Tehran, Iran, thousands of people gathered in the city’s streets with candles, standing in silence and sorrow for the people of the U.S. They were not alone.”

No, but they were alone when they went out into the streets and protested their government’s dirty politics and repressions! The Lefties sat that one out, can’t interfere you know, even with words of encouragement!

You also miss noting the fact that the Iranian PEOPLE are among the most secular and progressive in the Middle East, despite a government that is structured so as to give all the final control to the fundamentalist Mullahs. The People of Iran are enslaved by a regime that would gladly see them all burn in nuclear fire if they could significantly advance the cause of Islam in the world, at least as they see it.

Why can’t you see that Islamists really do believe in a kind of “faith” that is just like the worst of the Christian supremacist theology that you are so terrified of, but that is almost totally UN-moderated by Enlightenment reformations that have mellowed Christians down considerably in the last 300 years.

“Two of my favorite atheists who started out Christians, Friedrich Nietzsche and Ludwig Feuerbach, challenged belief in authoritarian monotheism.”

Charming, I too have issues with authoritarian monotheism, but fall far short of admiring the creator of the “overman”; dead and unwilling he might have been but the Nazis and fascists DID use his work at a foundation and springboard for their own “philosophies”! And Feuerbach; by all means let us honor the inspiration of Marx and Engles; though they f0ound him inconsistent in his materialistic atheism!

And what is THIS lie all about?

“Nietzsche, who opposed all forms of fascism, religious and political, including Nazism…”

Say WHAT? Neither Fascism, nor Nazism EXISTED as movements when Nietzsche died in 1800; the names had yet to even be coined, let alone having amassed any influence to oppose! It would be more fair to say he opposed totalitarian thought instead; your statement as written makes you look either ignorant, or like a bald-faced liar.

“..At the same time, we strive to hold each other accountable for being our best selves, knowing that others care about us.

Some religious communities fail — miserably.”

So then, WHY do you mainly highlight the failings of Mainstream Judeo-Christian faiths; and virtually NEVER highlight the Islamic actions that fall short?

“They or their clergy can be as dysfunctional or criminal as abusive families; theirs are the stories we hear about in the media. We don’t usually hear about the successes, the many thousands of ordinary, everyday mosques, temples, synagogues, covens, meeting houses, circles, and churches that manage to be decent, creative, life-sustaining communities that reweave the sacred tapestry of compassion and love.”

This is only half true: what about the LACK of voices protesting such things in certain religious communities? Are you silent when you hear of the abuse of minor girls in supposedly “Mormon” households? If a fundamentalist “exorcises” his kid to death are you “understanding of his cultural imperatives”? If a Baptist Church board announces that women should submit to the authority of the husband do you shrug and chalk it up to a different way to cherish the family? If a “Christian” psycho bombs an abortion clinic do you blame the pent up “humiliations and provocations committed by the clinic”? (By the way I in no way endorse that interpretation, I have my own take on the abortion debate)

In the summer of 2008, a group of us in the Bay Area, tired of two long wars and wanting to do more than protest, had a conversation about how to prevent a third war.

“This year, the attack on Park51 has stirred up anti-Muslim hatred and violence across the country.”

No my dear, 9/11 stirred up recognition that Islamists are not thinking in the same box as we are when they talk about what is “holy” or not; they are speaking about something closer to what Fred Phelps means when he says those words!

“Strengthening relationships among Muslims and others living in our communities is a sacred act of friendship. Care for our neighbors, empathy for those who suffer, courage to resist hate — these ordinary acts hallow our expanding circle of humanity and bless the world. That’s what I know is sacred.”

Too bad you feel that you must extend this to everyone EXCEPT the members of your own culture! Try actual objectivity some time, it tastes a lot better than that synthetic, diet version YOU endorse!

James Jay Lee: Discovery Hostage Taker

jamesjaylee_n

Here we go again Virginia! A Mad, twisted Right-Wing fanatic has assaulted the Discovery building in Silver Springs, taken hostages and claims to possess explosives.  Umm, wait a minute Virginia, he is actually a twisted LEFTIST terrorist!

12:23 PM PST and Lee’s site is already taken down!

My comment On Huffington Post

The reactions ranging from apathy to sympathy are appalling!
If this man had been a Christian, Jew, or any brand of "right-winger" you all would be slavering for his blood! The truth is that many of you sympathize with his insane and childish "manifesto", and only decry his tactics, if that!
I saw one comment that told him that he just had the wrong target!
In the ’80’s it was the Righties, today it is the Lefties, but there are always people so blindly partisan to truly BELIEVE:

"ONLY the opposition MUST play fair; WE are the "Good Guys"!

Now the commentators on Washington Post seem almost to be defending his attitude toward "environmentalist education"!

More later!

12:42 PM PST

Yep, now one guy has decided Lee must be bi-polar; talking about how tough it can be if you skip your meds… NO MENTION OF THE HOSTAGES WELFARE FOR A WHILE NOW!

"we now, after three hours have a pretty good picture of the man…" blah, blah blah, but no one knows just who he is holding!

This is disgusting!

Here is his ranting manifesto:

The Discovery Channel MUST broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet and to do the following IMMEDIATELY:
1. The Discovery Channel and it’s affiliate channels MUST have daily television programs at prime time slots based on Daniel Quinn’s “My Ishmael” pages 207-212 where solutions to save the planet would be done in the same way as the Industrial Revolution was done, by people building on each other’s inventive ideas. Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution. A game show format contest would be in order. Perhaps also forums of leading scientists who understand and agree with the Malthus-Darwin science and the problem of human overpopulation. Do both. Do all until something WORKS and the natural world starts improving and human civilization building STOPS and is reversed! MAKE IT INTERESTING SO PEOPLE WATCH AND APPLY SOLUTIONS!!!!

2. All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs’ places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it.

3. All programs promoting War and the technology behind those must cease. There is no sense in advertising weapons of mass-destruction anymore. Instead, talk about ways to disassemble civilization and concentrate the message in finding SOLUTIONS to solving global military mechanized conflict. Again, solutions solutions instead of just repeating the same old wars with newer weapons. Also, keep out the fraudulent peace movements. They are liars and fakes and had no real intention of ending the wars. ALL OF THEM ARE FAKE! On one hand, they claim they want the wars to end, on the other, they are demanding the human population increase. World War II had 2 Billion humans and after that war, the people decided that tripling the population would assure peace. WTF??? STUPIDITY! MORE HUMANS EQUALS MORE WAR!

4. Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is. That, and all its disgusting religious-cultural roots and greed. Broadcast this message until the pollution in the planet is reversed and the human population goes down! This is your obligation. If you think it isn’t, then get hell off the planet! Breathe Oil! It is the moral obligation of everyone living otherwise what good are they??

5. Immigration: Programs must be developed to find solutions to stopping ALL immigration pollution and the anchor baby filth that follows that. Find solutions to stopping it. Call for people in the world to develop solutions to stop it completely and permanently. Find solutions FOR these countries so they stop sending their breeding populations to the US and the world to seek jobs and therefore breed more unwanted pollution babies. FIND SOLUTIONS FOR THEM TO STOP THEIR HUMAN GROWTH AND THE EXPORTATION OF THAT DISGUSTING FILTH! (The first world is feeding the population growth of the Third World and those human families are going to where the food is! They must stop procreating new humans looking for nonexistant jobs!)

6. Find solutions for Global Warming, Automotive pollution, International Trade, factory pollution, and the whole blasted human economy. Find ways so that people don’t build more housing pollution which destroys the environment to make way for more human filth! Find solutions so that people stop breeding as well as stopping using Oil in order to REVERSE Global warming and the destruction of the planet!

7. Develop shows that mention the Malthusian sciences about how food production leads to the overpopulation of the Human race. Talk about Evolution. Talk about Malthus and Darwin until it sinks into the stupid people’s brains until they get it!!

8. Saving the Planet means saving what’s left of the non-human Wildlife by decreasing the Human population. That means stopping the human race from breeding any more disgusting human babies! You’re the media, you can reach enough people. It’s your resposibility because you reach so many minds!!!

9. Develop shows that will correct and dismantle the dangerous US world economy. Find solutions for their disasterous Ponzi-Casino economy before they take the world to another nuclear war.

10. Stop all shows glorifying human birthing on all your channels and on TLC. Stop Future Weapons shows or replace the dialogue condemning the people behind these developments so that the shows become exposes rather than advertisements of Arms sales and development!

11. You’re also going to find solutions for unemployment and housing. All these unemployed people makes me think the US is headed toward more war.

Humans are the most destructive, filthy, pollutive creatures around and are wrecking what’s left of the planet with their false morals and breeding culture.

For every human born, ACRES of wildlife forests must be turned into farmland in order to feed that new addition over the course of 60 to 100 YEARS of that new human’s lifespan! THIS IS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE FOREST CREATURES!!!! All human procreation and farming must cease!

It is the responsiblity of everyone to preserve the planet they live on by not breeding any more children who will continue their filthy practices. Children represent FUTURE catastrophic pollution whereas their parents are current pollution. NO MORE BABIES! Population growth is a real crisis. Even one child born in the US will use 30 to a thousand times more resources than a Third World child. It’s like a couple are having 30 babies even though it’s just one! If the US goes in this direction maybe other countries will too!

Also, war must be halted. Not because it’s morally wrong, but because of the catastrophic environmental damage modern weapons cause to other creatures. FIND SOLUTIONS JUST LIKE THE BOOK SAYS! Humans are supposed to be inventive. INVENT, DAMN YOU!!

The world needs TV shows that DEVELOP solutions to the problems that humans are causing, not stupify the people into destroying the world. Not encouraging them to breed more environmentally harmful humans.

Saving the environment and the remaning species diversity of the planet is now your mindset. Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels.

The humans? The planet does not need humans.

You MUST KNOW the human population is behind all the pollution and problems in the world, and YET you encourage the exact opposite instead of discouraging human growth and procreation. Surely you MUST ALREADY KNOW this!

I want Discovery Communications to broadcast on their channels to the world their new program lineup and I want proof they are doing so. I want the new shows started by asking the public for inventive solution ideas to save the planet and the remaining wildlife on it.

These are the demands and sayings of Lee.

4:00 PM PST Over and now the real circus begins.

I am waiting for the honest and earnest discussion of Lee’s "call to awareness of the need for his main points to be made central to our civil discourse"!

CAIR – Partisan Over Religion – Religious in Their Partisanship

CMSASeries

Today on Hussam Ayloush‘s personal website (Hussam is the executive director of the los Angeles CAIR affiliate) I found this post from a piece on the Huffington Post … Oh my Virginia, what is the world of “Holy Men” coming to?

There is a quote whose source I have not been able to track down that goes something like this:

A true Holy Man[or woman] is known in spite of their religion, not because of it.”

This means Virginia, that the thoughts, and feelings, and actions of the truly holy can be recognized across the lines of dogma and doctrine and other man-made fantasies meant to bolster ego more than help people to grow closer to God. In this day and age no where is this more evident than in the realms of Televangelism, Creationism, radically militant Hassidic Jews and mainstream Islam.

Articles exposing the philosophies and excesses of the first three abound across the media from the Leftist to the moderate to the almost conservative; this piece is about a new wave of holy disingenuousness rising across the Western and Eastern worlds.

Let us introduce Kamran Pasha and his piece from Huffington Post as echoed by our good friend Hussam and my response:

clip_image001

You are very imaginative Sir; have you ever considered a career writing fantasy? Or maybe creating advertising copy for cigarette companies would be more to your taste?

The ADL, which was founded in 1913 as a powerful voice against religious discrimination in America, has over the past decade become increasingly xenophobic toward the Muslim community, which its leaders seem to view as a threat to Jews due to its lack of support for Israel.”

That is very interesting. I would imagine though that their attitude comes more from the steady rise in anti-Semitism worldwide, especially in Israel, in those same ten years.

Lack of support”? Is that what you call Muslim leaders, spiritual and political, spouting genocidal rhetoric and fake history as they train their children to be robotic martyrs to the cause of eliminating Israel? Are you under the impression, Sir that no one can read Muslim news sources, or listen to Muslim leaders speak; or see records of Friday sermons declaring Israelis inhuman and all the hateful rhetoric of a nascent fascism?

MushroomCloud2

“As a Christian friend who works in the Obama Administration lamented to me recently, the ADL has in essence become the “Pro-Defamation League” when it comes to Islam and Muslims.”

Does the same obviously bigoted friend of yours walk up to his Jewish friends, and tell them that CAIR is unfortunately almost exclusively anti-Semitic in its slant on everything? No? Why ever not Sir?

Here is where it really starts to get good!

The recent comments by Abraham Foxman, National Director of the ADL, against the proposed Muslim community center in New York are the latest in a long line of incidents where members of the ADL have promoted bigotry and discrimination against Arabs and Muslims.”

This is the iron skillet calling the almost new aluminum pan black! Let us look at some actual data, instead of opinion shall we Virginia?

6,489,000 Jews in US more or less; 2.2% of the population – CAIR claims that there are 7 million Muslims in the US for, about 2.2 % (is that why the CAIR number is much higher than all other estimate, to equal the Jewish presence? Just a thought.)

So then, Virginia, all we need to do is compare the anti-Islamic crime with the anti-Jewish crime 1 to 1 for us to see who is getting the short end of religious bigotry:

  Incidents Victims Offenders Percentage
All anti-Religion: 1,519 1,732 632 100%
Anti-Jewish 1,013 1,145 353 66%
Anti-Islamic 105 130 85 7%

 http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/hc2008/data/table_01.html

(Addition 8/11; Please take note Virginia that the anti-Islamic crimes were comitted on average by only 1.2 persons per crime while the anti-Jewish crimes were more often group efforts with an average of 2.9 offenders per incident!)

Even if we use the figure for Muslims in the US given by the American Religious Identification Survey of 1.3 million (about a fifth of the CAIR number) gives a weighted comparison of anti-Jewish = 66% and anti-Islamic = 105 incidents times 5 for weighting = 525 out of 1,519 incidents equaling 35%, barely half of the anti-Semitic rate! Q.E.D.

“In 1993, the ADL illegally spied on American citizens who had spoken out in sympathy with Palestinians, generating a watch list of 10,000 names of private citizens and over 600 groups, and then selling the list to South African intelligence agents…

“Do not do unto others what you would not have others do unto you.”

clip_image005muslim-holocaust israel-swastika antisemitism01 MEMRI-ArabCartoons cartoon_20080603 protocols8

Good advice!

“To Mr. Foxman and the rest of the ADL leadership, I ask if in your hearts you would want people to accuse innocent Jews of being enemies of the state?

Would you want Jews to accept vilification of their entire religion if a handful of Jews ever did something wrong? Would you want Jews to tacitly accept the lies that bigots had projected on to them? And finally, would you want Jews to be forced to shut down their synagogues because of the misguided passions of a mob?

Would you want this done to Jews?

If the answer is no, then I ask as your Muslim brother that you follow the wisdom of Rabbi Hillel and the sages of Judaism.

Do not do the same hateful thing to my people.”

Pretty words Sir, but… By their fruits shall ye know them…

Eboo Patel; Spinning So Fast Must Make Him Dizzy!

normal_BARBARIC%20eng

Today on Huffington Post we find our old friend Eboo Patel explaining once again how the anti-democratic, pro-violence, anti-women stance of every school of Islamic Jurisprudence has to be the result of Western Islamaphobia.

Eboo likes to pretend he is a soft-shelled moderate, aching for love and acceptance, and then proceeds to diminish and excuse, or simply ignore, every reality associated with Islam today while blaming all the worlds ills on the Evil West.  Come Virginian, lets us examine his latest display of his mastery of the Islamic concept of Kitman.

Eboo is very skilled at wrapping unrelated concepts into a lump and smearing them with a foul smell, all the while maintaining a saintly glow on his pained authorial face.

“In public, Islam always appears in flames. Sometimes it’s on fire in the movies, sometimes it’s on fire in the newspapers. The most recent example, of course, is on the cartoon South Park, where the Prophet Muhammad was depicted wearing a bear suit.”

Here Eboo trumpets the stands Islam as Victim line while ignoring the glaring DATA regarding acts by Muslims, Riots, killings, bloody repression of women and child abuse that makes Hebert Hebert look like a Sunday School teacher! THESE are the things that keep Islam appearing “in flames” not The Big M in a bear suit!

This is especially true in regard to South Park, What religious figure has that show NOT mocked without bearing the threat of violence? Just one, the mysteriously insecure “perfect example” to mankind!  A sure sign that it is the LEADERS that are “offended” and not the “ummah” is that both South Park and other comedy shows have mocked Mohamed and Islam before, and gotten away with it, simply because the LEADERS did not call for riots… it is beyond reason to believe that the masses did not see these other depictions.

Next, the slight of hand artist pulls a terrorist rabbit out of the free speech hat.

“That gave a platform to a website called "Revolution Muslim" to direct a threat against the South Park writers. Which gave a platform for a couple of scary-looking guys with beards to go on TV and talk about how Muslims are required to terrorize people (how kind the media is to radical Muslims: so much free air time, and they don’t have to pay a PR company). Which gave the industry of Islamophobia a platform to say, "See, didn’t we tell you their religion makes them violent?" Which made Americans scared of Muslims, again.”

So, we can have our little civilization, if only we refrain from offending Muslims?  Otherwise the (self) Righteously-Angered-Ummah ™ will give us something  (spontaneously of course!) to REALLY be afraid of?  And it is OUR FAULT if that happens because we will have insisted on actually IDENTIFYING the reasons you are attacking us?  Do you EAT with that mouth?

Eboo, Eboo, most of those “scary-looking guys with beards” you are speaking of are the MAINSTREAM SCHOLARS of Islam! You are insulting virtually ALL of the traditional, and current, interpretations held dear by the MAINSTREAM schools of thought in Sunni, Shi’a AND Sufi Islam!  Name ONE school, other than the hunted-and-killed-by-the-mainstream Amadayia that does NOT support violence in response to things like the South Park incident! Just ONE!

“It’s a too-familiar story, so familiar, in fact, that it just about writes itself.”

Too true, Eboo Patel shows us how easy it is to follow the formula and excuse the criminal and demonize the victim.

“And that’s the problem, actually. The arsonists want you to associate Islam with flames — that’s why they light it on fire whenever they send it out to the public. They are masters at manipulating media, from newspapers to videos to cartoons.”

You see Virginia, if a Muslim beats or kills a Jew or homosexual or kills his “erring” daughter because ALL OF HIS Imams TOLD him he should do things like that, it is YOUR FAULT if you DARE to think that maybe the Imams and their religion had ANYTHING to do with the corpses piled at your feet.

“But there are other Muslims who are mastering media and who are telling different stories. Meet Dr. Naif al-Mutawa, founder of the Muslim cartoon series The 99. He is an Arab educated in America, a psychologist who went to business school, a Muslim aghast at how Islam is viewed as violent and hateful by Muslims and non-Muslims alike, a father of five boys, and one of the most impressive cultural entrepreneurs of our times.

Naif had just been accepted to Columbia Business School when 9/11 happened. There was the horror of the terror that had hit the land that had educated him. There was the double horror of the hijacking of his religion. And there was the triple horror that there was no alternative message about Islam even a fraction as powerful as the ugliness that Al Qaeda was offering.”

I went and read all the posts on Dr Mutawa’s site and have to say that if there are truly moderate Muslims out there HE is one of them.  Other than a not surprising inability to see the facts on the ground relating to Israel’s birth, everything he says is so modern and moderate that I am surprised al-Jazeera has not denounced him as a Zionist plant!

(brief interlude; Jeopardy theme)

Well, it seems that 99 is banned in Saudi Arabia and, according to students at Kuwait University’s Shari’a School when visited by PBS’s Frontline to investigate the Muslim world’s reaction to the wildly popular comic, the biggest threat to Islam.

“…we visited the Sharia — or Islamic law — school on the other side of the campus. Not surprisingly, these students were far less inclined to share their opinions about The 99 with us. But one …said he believed he spoke for all Muslims when he said that The 99 was wrong and misguided. Yusef felt that The 99 was part of a post-9/11 response in some parts of the Islamic world to make Islam more palatable to 21st-century sensibilities. He said that efforts to give women more religious authority and the new interpretations of the Koran are reforms that are diluting the message of the prophet Mohammed. “This is the greatest threat to Islam today,” he said.”

The fact is that Naif is…a tad naive.  The real mutawa have no patience for his kind, Westernized Muslims who really DO want to reform Islam.  Unfortunately the actual religious leadership do NOT see things his way.

I also wonder just what Mr Mutawa thinks of much of what Mr. PATEL writes?  Naif strikes me from his writing as truly uninterested in getting drawn into the fanatics debate while enjoying the feeling that he is doing something to promote Islam… I have not yet read any of the actual comics, so I do not know if this trend continues or if Mr Patel’s brand of Taqqiya and Kitman win out.  But, from what I have read in his web site, if someone can enlighten him as the actual history of Israel, he is one of the good guys. Mr Patel on the other hand I still do not see as anything but a white-washer and apologist.

My fear is that the Wahabis will win out and intimidate Mutawa into giving them writing control. I certainly believe that Patel and other like him are waving Mutawa with one hand and CAIR’s hate mongering with the other. But Naif better watch his back.

Stay Tuned…

LimBamian Politics 101: 2010 The Limbaugh-Obama Mentality Takes Hold

idylls king 0013

In 2010 we have fully entered a new era of politics that I call the Limbaugh-Obama, or LimBama period.

This era’s new mentality is neither Left nor Right wing. Instead it applies equally to both sides of the political spectrum, indeed all sides.  It is the ability to purport to believe in republican democracy and the Constitution, while firmly believing that political perfection is only prevented by the “Opposition” being allowed to participate in the legislative process.

The Constitution is replaced (ideologically at least, for the WORDs “The Constitution” will still ring out when freedom is but a memory) by the simple rule:

WE do not HAVE to play “fair” because WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS!

The because part of this unwritten commandment comes in many forms in the minds of partisans:

We defend the downtrodden and repressed

We have God (Allah) in our hearts and you are fooled by Satan

We serve the long-term interest of Human Survival

We serve Mother Earth

Yada, yada, yada… it is all a bunch of self serving baloney from minds so lost in group think that they can’t SEE the surface of the swamp let alone know their common sense had drowned!

It all only has ONE ‘because’:

Because WE WANT THE POWER, though we prove by our methods that we do not deserve it, and will surely abuse it for our selfish personal goals.
