Forget Faith in Jesus or Mohammad – I Believe in Bugs Bunny

One thing seems to be consistent about religions all through human history; faith in the literal truth of the religion’s doctrines and dogmas is strongest in the least educated and least widely experienced, while the “elite” tend to range from religious beliefs with agnostic admissions to full-blown, cynical atheism.  This aspect of societal religion tends to favor the more partisan of each camp; the “masses” are peer-pressured to “show faith” and not think too much, while the “elite” are pressured in the same way to deny ALL aspects of deity and belief and God(s).  For those of us to who seeking understanding of God in a REAL sense, as opposed to a political or emotional/security sense, this is a bit of a hindrance.

To try to avoid the almost inevitable miscommunication that occurs when attempting to discuss God let me define my own terms; belief is not the same as faith; faith is something that causes grief and only causes good by accident; belief is what built civilization as we know it.

Faith is defined in Western culture as belief in something unseen, unproven, un-EVIDENCED other than by conflicting scriptural testimonies; this is a fool’s game at best!

Pseudo-religion has taken over much of the world’s “Faithful” by taking advantage of the tendency of the masses to desire a simple creed with an un-questioned authority to follow – just so that they do not have to ponder things that they do not have the experience or education to ponder with any confidence.

It is not enough, their preachers say, to believe in the bridge over the canyon, you must have and prove absolute faith that it is there…

The next sound you hear is the sound of crunching bones at the bottom of the canyon; and if the snake-oiled social-system-from-perdition that they are selling fails the test in the real world they have an escape clause; it is the fault of the poor soul who failed to “show enough faith”; you know who I mean, they are most likely a victim of the situation for which they are receiving (divine sanctioned) blame!

As you can see Virginia, I have never completely gotten over my desire to seek God, and lead others to know God better! Mea culpa; I still care. But, at some point I recognized that all the “Organized Religions” have long since been co-opted by pirates, parasites and reactionaries – who are their own enemies as well as everyone else’s; never thinking, believing then acting – just fighting the others while stealing as much power over people’s souls as possible.

Oh, let me point out that yes, Atheism is a faith; it takes a lot of ego-based, un-founded faith to KNOW that “our reality contains no form of anything that might be called God, period, debate closed; it is not even possible you know, why even bring it up in ‘intelligent’ company?”

Belief on the other hand is based on facts and experience and even intuition, if that intuition has a good track record; if every time you had something very bad happen in your life, and you had ignored a strong, distinct feeling to avoid the situation, eventually you would “believe” enough to listen; even though for years you might not have the “faith” to gamble on your premonitions being something other than a coincidental case of indigestion!

I have beliefs, I have very little faith; I like it that way.

Faith has to be blind; the blind tend to step on things, including other people’s toes, property, pets and even bridges that are NOT over canyons.

Of course many of the things that can fall under either label are good, or useful!

In a documentary film about the life and death of comedian Andy Kaufman (Man on the Moon) there is a scene where he is waiting to undergo a faith healing in India with full belief, from things he has seen and read and experienced, that he would find healing given by an honest healer. But instead, he sees from where his stretcher is laid that the “healer” is faking the procedure, and his belief dies.

Of course, the proponents of “faith” will tell us that if he had continued to ‘have FAITH ™’, instead of merely believing, the placebo effect would have worked with a holy head-start, and he might have found healing; I do not disagree but, I find that level of blind faith an evil, black magic; one that is less a slippery slope than a swift escalator to horrific abuses ( ones that we have seen over and over again in history when people forget the reality of their fellow man, and treat them solely according to their “faith.” Q.E.D. Virginia, Q.E.D.!

The bottom line is that true lover’s of God are recognized despite their religion, not because of it; mostly everyone stays for their entire life in the religion that they were born into; in some religions it can be fatal to become an Agnostic let alone change your religion; so much for an honest quest for God.

Yet there are good, godly, devout people wherever you find human hearts and human tears.  You can’t avoid that simple, obvious truth; unless you cling to “faith” in the notion that God made a special effort to make sure that you were born in the faith that you “happen” to believe in – all just so you could be “saved“! Of course, anyone not so favored was chosen by the ‘Infinite Power and Mercy of Deity’ to be born in an “un-Godly cult” that destines them to almost certain “damnation”!

If you do believe that this is true, then there is a quote from the Christians’ Bible that I believe is appropriate: “Jesus Wept“!

How to Viciously Put Down Those Haters on the Right!

6a00d8341c60bf53ef0120a5fd1ba6970c-500wi

Over and over I see reports, opinion columns and commentary from the Left about the hatred, stupidity and racism of anyone associated with the Tea Parties.  I myself have never been to a TP demonstration, but I do look at all the information I can.  The actual videos I have seen show a calm and happy bunch of people, a strong contrast to the usual emotion of a Left-wing gathering.  I have also never seen any sign of the blatant racism that is supposed to prevail, especially in their signage…  Well, today Virginia we will be answering the folks with spittle flying from their red faces on their charge that Obama has inspired more hatred, venom and murderous/racist rhetoric in his racist opponents than the Great Satan George Bush II ever had to suffer. Oh, let it be known, I think Bush was/is a fool and, until a certain Chicago gentleman put his heiny in the hot seat, the WORST president in living memory! I mean really Virginia, how bloody embarrassing is it to follow someone like G.W., and in only one year have billboards asking “Miss Me Yet?” with G.W.’s beaming smirk; and in two years be TIED with him for the worst president in MSM polls?

The first claim we will demolish is that the anti-Obama signs are over-the-top and rabidly partisan compared to the Bush-era signs:

Now, if you call that over the top and hateful let us enter the Wayback Machine and see how things were in the Bush years:

okay… so it seems that the Lefties spewed at least as much venom at Bush… more from what I see.

Now, let us look at the signs that “imply violence” or “contain an implicit threat” directed at Obama lately…

unarmedthistime 912lynchmob 3917804382_4e1eaba387 gun gunman guns912photo guns3912photo keep_my_guns_large teapartyracism14 threat912photo

I do not see a lot of implied violence there, the closest is the one with his Pants On Fire… a phrase that seems to escape the Leftie who posted it under threats… he claimed it must be about “burning blacks out of their towns” (note the broken promises/lies littering the ground)

Now, once again we will compare to the above heinous examples of “Right-Wing bigotry and hatred” the mild and loving expressions of polite dissent with which the warm and caring Left-wingers showered Bush II:

Is it just me, or did those seem just a trifle more nasty, hateful and downright scary? Especially when they are coming from the political group that claims the “moral high ground” on so many issues of !!!

Ethics? WE don’t need Ethics! WE are The Good Guys(tm)!

Well then, how about the claims that labels of Nazi and comparisons with Hitler are something new to the political landscape; something heinous and in need to stamping out?

First, The anti-Obama signs that ring in the Hitler/Nazi theme…

nazi5 constitutionapjoseluismagans hitler nazi3

Hmm, not a lot there.. let us now look at the scant evidence of anti-Bush protestors using such hateful rhetoric

bush_protest_latam BushSS hitbush Stop_Bush_protest SubtleAntiBushSign _44431920_bush_protest_416ap anti-bush-protest-march-new-york-city

Wow Virginia, not much there is there? NOT!

So, now to the racism accusation… this one has a bit of truth to it, but note how an after-protest handbill left by an anonymous person and a handwritten sign by a young teen are the worst of the lot!!!

These first ones are pretty borderline, but still not bigoted, mostly just putting Obama in an uncomfortable comparison with racists of the past; in the “theft” one the victim is black and in the Uncle Sam poster Obama is NOT depicted as a gangster or thug, just a bastard… and that is certainly a legitimate political opinion…

blackcriminal912photo912slavprojection1antioconfedslittingsamthroataprilefavara

Now we finally get to the ones that actually have something to them;

welfarobama

This one was just included in the list because it is so blatant… but, it was left AFTER a protest, no attribution, no claimant, could be by anyone, even a provocateur…

Here is one that Finally is no-doubt-allowed racist and stupid! But, note that it is the sign of a child just old enough to be off the leash; also, not a printed sign from any organized group…

 teapartysign1sm

Which brings us to the ONE sign I could find that is racist, un-supportable and simply hateful…

 090724-us-hc-racist

So, how did Bush II fair?

 120-2044_IMG  BlackProtestRepublicanNationalConveIMG_4544

Well, it seems that when it comes to hateful rhetoric, nasty slogans and just plain violent fantasies the Left edges out the Right by a nose…

I went, I saw, I videoed it; here it is for you to see for yourself.

Shirley Sherrod Repent! Your Sin Is upon You!

Thank you Andrew Breitbart for this concise and cutting critique of the Mainstream Media and American Politics.

Video Proof: The NAACP Awards Racism–2010

by Andrew Breitbart Context is everything.

In this piece you will see video evidence of racism coming from a federal appointee and NAACP award recipient…

…The media that provided the left a platform to accuse the Tea Party, all the while refusing to air any exculpatory evidence. Again, the mainstream media inserts itself as the number one weapon in the progressive weapons stash. Political correctness, as the Duke Lacrosse case exemplified, trumps all in PC America and her afflicted media.

But the new media will not be silenced. It will not allow for the main stream media to propagate hateful and hurtful lies in order to save the Democratic Party from the toxic choices it has made over the past few years. And by bringing up race, and demanding a zero tolerance of racism, the left, and the NAACP in particular, has opened itself up for scrutiny.

Shirley Sherrod, USDA Georgia Director of Rural Development, speaks at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia. In her meandering speech to what appears to be an all-black audience, this federally appointed executive bureaucrat lays out in stark detail, that her federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions.

In the first video, Sherrod describes how she racially discriminates against a white farmer. She describes how she is torn over how much she will choose to help him. And, she admits that she doesn’t do everything she can for him, because he is white. Eventually, her basic humanity informs that this white man is poor and needs help. But she decides that he should get help from “one of his own kind”. She refers him to a white lawyer.

Sherrod’s racist tale is received by the NAACP audience with nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement. Hardly the behavior of the group now holding itself up as the supreme judge of another groups’ racial tolerance.

…The NAACP which has transformed from a civil rights group to a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party and social-justice politics, supports a new America that relies less on individualism, entrepreneurialism and American grit, but instead giddily embraces, the un-American notion of unaccountability and government dependence.

Here is the Video…

Read It All…

To be completely fair I must say that my impression is that Madam Sherrod is recounting “past” racism on her part to try to convince her audience that Back on White racism really is not ok… but that is reading into it a lot and giving her the benefit of the doubt, I want to see the whole speech! Even if my theory is correct she is a little to smug and her audience WAY too approving for this to be innocent even if Breitbart’s analysis is spun too hard to the Right.

Does ANYONE in D.C. actually READ bills or laws anymore???

liberalism

Today I stumbled on a Left-leaning, Right-Bashing blog site called Sensico (making sense of things)

It has some articles of sense, however there are a lot that are nothing but Leftwing bash pieces on anything perceived as “conservative”, as such they contain about as much truth as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

One piece in particular that offended against reality was one on the Arizona illegal immigrants law.  Now I am not sure this law will end up working out, but I do not think it is even close to being unconstitutional. It certainly isn’t what the Lefties are portraying it to be, some kind of white paper to stop and ID anyone who is not as “American” looking as Andy Griffith!  Here is my response to the madness…

Can it be that you really do not understand the law?
Let us break it down to the key sentence in your quote…

“FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY”

The LAWFUL CONTACT comes FIRST! The cop will have to show that BEFORE he/she had suspicions there already had to be Legal CONTACT. You know how hard the defense attorney will fight to keep this a HIGH bar to clear. Without something like a dash-cam of speeding or some such it will be VERY hard to get by this first hurdle.

“…WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS AN ALIEN WHO IS UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES,”

Another hurdle here BEFORE any ID check can be made aimed at immigration status, a double one too! REASONABLE SUSPICION not only of a person not being “born here” but that they are here ILLEGALLY. Frankly I am not sure WHAT might pass this test in court. Certainly it will not be a trivial hurdle.

“… A REASONABLE ATTEMPT SHALL BE MADE, WHEN PRACTICABLE,”

Another hurdle, this lets cops know that it is not acceptable to go around Murphy’s barn to get the info needed, if the proper computer is down when a cop checks someone at a traffic stop it would not be reasonable to arrest them to be held until the check can be made. This law is loaded with hurdles and qualifications.

“… TO DETERMINE THE IMMIGRATION STATUS OF THE PERSON.”

I am not sure what would constitute “cause to suspect illegality”, this law appears to merely make the law enforcement people DO SOMETHING when they DO have good reasons to think that someone is illegal AFTER coming into contact with them officially FIRST.

Given that a total lack of English could be excluded as proof of possible illegality by a good lawyer, without some other confirmation, such as uncertainty about answers regarding when they entered the U.S., or where they were born if they claim to be a citizen.

NOT ONE WORD of this law would seem to me to open the door for someone to be stopped for nothing and checked out merely for LOOKING foreign! To claim otherwise is to deny that you understand simple English…
